For my research essay I also had to create a self-reflection essay considering my writing. In this self-reflection essay I took into consideration my previous works and pointed out were I had improved and also were I still needed to improve for other assignments in the future.

Pizza, Migration and Globalism 

The process of writing about a researched food item is really challenging and complicated. I didn’t only did I have to make sure that I follow the guidelines and explain myself in an understandable manner, but also find the appropriate sources to match my main topic. The essay itself perhaps was not the most outstanding work that I could have done, but it did accomplish its goal of being a researched paper that discussed my topic of pizza into much detail. However, as usual there is always room for improvement that could be applied into later works that I could get assigned to perfectionate my writing skills. So I would like to reflectionate the writing process that I had while making my research paper.

​For my research paper I decided to work on the topic of pizza, since it was the most known food to me and other people, this made me think that it would be easy to interact with the audience since the topic did interest me. I tried to engage with the audience by being as direct as possible in explaining my reasonings as well as introducing new ideas constantly. I think that this helped me approach and not get them bored, which did accomplished my goal here. While my stance on my research paper was made clear since the begining with my thesis, in which I do agree globalization lead to pizza to become more popular. I tried to keep it as professional as possible and not transmit any feelings but get my point across the table directly to my audience, which I think that did work in this case.

​My research paper also contained a genre and a purpose. My genre was to write about the findings that I had made on my my topic, in which I mostly talked about how did globalization changed the way pizza is perceived today. I think that I didn’t have any issues accomplishing my research paper’s genre since I did made sure to follow the format correctly. While the purpose of my research paper was to discuss the topic in full detail, I tried to get as directly to the point as possible, although I would have to say that it was hard due to the types of sources I had to use. I tried to follow my outline and my notes to accomplish informing people the reasons behind my purpose. I believe that I did completely accomplish the purpose of my essay.

​In this essay I also used Course Learning Outcomes, CLOs. With my research essay I engaged in the localization of research sources from databases in the internet, which did helped me learn how to actually locate and use sources that I found. I was also able to compose texts that integrated my stance with appropriate sources by using strategies of critical analysis, which did help me create a proper argument from my topic. And also I was able to improve furthermore in developing strategies for drafting and editing as I edited my own work and created outlines to format my own essay. If wasn’t for this assignment I would have not used some of these CLOs which did help me create and format my essay.

​In conclusion, my research paper perhaps is not one of my best papers, and it may need some improvements such as in formatting and perhaps its argumentation. However, my research paper does accomplish the purpose of using sources to argue my topic in hand. It very much does go step by step on how did pizza became known as what it is today. It is also as direct as possible to not bored the audience. However, there is always room for improvements that I should work on in other papers such as how to transition from ideas to ideas or how to describe something into further detail. But in the end my essay did achieve its main purpose of being a research paper with a proper argument.
